Sarah Beth Marquis spoke Thursday about how she could always do better on the softball field for Young Harris College.
In two games earlier in the week against Valdosta State, the top-ranked NCAA Division II team in the nation, the former Navarre standout failed to get a hit.
But that changed in the opening game of a doubleheader with South Carolina-Aiken Friday. Marquis tallied a hit, her 16th of the year, and helped the Mountain Lions earn a 9-3 win.
Marquis has played in 24 games this season and is batting .271. She has belted three home runs and has driven in seven.
