Sophomores aren’t usually mentioned in the same sentence as “best player in the state.” They rarely get to bask in the glory of being recognized as one of the best athletes in the nation either.
Every once in a while there is an exception.
This year, Navarre’s Emily Madril fits the bill.
Coming off a season of a lifetime, a season where she helped the Raiders reach the 4A state soccer tournament for the first time in program history, Madril stepped into rarefied air last week.
