Luke Losquadro and Harrison Dorsey are among the regional qualifiers for Navarre’s swim team.
The two Raider swimmers placed in the top 10 in two events at the District 1-4A meet in Gainesville Wednesday afternoon. The meet featured the fastest swimmers in the state, according to head coach Mary Moorer.
But that didn’t faze the Raiders at all.
Losquadro was the runner-up in the 100 Freestyle, recording a time of 49.54. He took ninth in the 50 Freestyle (22.86).
Dorsey punched a ticket to the regional in the 100 Backstroke, finishing sixth in a time of 55.99. He qualified for state in the event last season for the first time in his career. The senior earned a ninth-place finish in the 200 IM (2:04.05).
Dorsey and Losquadro helped the Raiders qualify for regionals in the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle relays.
They joined Charles Smith and Chase Jennings in the medley relay, combining to record a time of 1:48.22, good enough for eighth. They teamed up with Smith and Noah Reed in the freestyle relay, placing sixth in a time of 1:35.71.
The girls 200 Freestyle Relay team of Claire Sczesny, Courtney Rodrigues, Alyssa Allen and Madison Sullins heads to the regional after clocking in with a time of 1:49.15, good enough for eighth at the district meet.
The regional meet is scheduled for Nov. 7 at the Cecil Field Aquatic Center in Jacksonville. Bartram Trail is the host school.
