A look at how the state-ranked teams fared over the weekend

Navarre suffered its first loss of the year Friday night, falling 31-28 to Gulf Breeze in the Beach Bowl. The Raiders had their 20-game regular-season win streak snapped and lost out on their shot to repeat as District 2-6A champs.

The Raiders (8-1, 2-1), ranked sixth in the state, were one of three teams ranked in the top 10 that lost this weekend. Niceville fell 27-23 to Crestview. The Eagles were ranked eighth.

No. 1 Mainland remained unbeaten crushed Seabreeze 70-7 to improve to 9-0 on the year. None of the other No. 1 teams in the state lost either this weekend.

Navarre returns to action Friday when it closes out the regular season at Niceville. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
