Lightning strikes, as do Raiders in win over Gators

Navarre’s baseball team routed Escambia 6-0 last Tuesday in summer league baseball action.

Navarre pounded out six hits and capitalized on two Gator errors in the win. However, the Raiders only made it into the top of the fifth inning before the game was called due to lightning and heavy rain.

In what proved to be the game winner, Bailey Huston hit a two-out single in the third. He came around to score on a two-base error on Joe Vanselow’s infield roller.

The Raiders caught fire in the fourth, scoring five runs.

On the hill, Trevor Kestner and Bradley Kelly held Escambia to one hit. Kestner pitched three innings, collecting five strikeouts and giving up the only hit the Gators could muster.
