Governor Rick Scott announced today that Saturday, Sept. 5, will be a license–free saltwater fishing day for Florida residents and visitors.
Governor Scott said, “Florida is the Fishing Capital of the World and we hope even more families and visitors fish in our Florida waters this Labor Day weekend.”
“This is a great opportunity to expose new anglers to Florida’s rich fishing heritage,” said Florida Wildlife Commission Chairman Brian Yablonski. “We hope new anglers, including residents and visitors alike, are inspired to join in the excitement and enjoy all of the great fishing opportunities we have to offer in Florida, the Fishing Capital of the World!”
This free day in September is a part of the eight total license-free fishing days the Florida Wildlife Commission offers each year. All bag limits, seasons and size restrictions apply on these dates.
