Leggett makes his NFL debut with Jets in preseason opener

Jordan Leggett made his NFL debut Saturday night at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The former Navarre standout caught one pass for eight yards in the New York Jets’ 7-3 win over the Tennessee Titans in the preseason opener for both teams.

New York scored its lone touchdown when Josh McCown connected wtih Charone Peake on a 4-yard touchdown pass in the opening quarter.

The Jets are hoping it’s a sign of things to come after finishing fourth in the AFC East last year with a 5-11 record.

Leggett is aiming to play a key role for the Jets at tight end. He was taken in the fifth round of the draft out of Clemson where he was a two-time Mackey Award finalist and helped the Tigers win the national championship this past season.
