Scott Hemond’s School of Baseball in Destin has become a popular training destination for Navarre baseball players.
So it makes sense for Hemond to open a training center in Navarre, and the wheels are in motion for it to happen this fall, thanks in part to the efforts of former Raider standout Brennan Coe.
Coe, a trainer at the former Major League catcher’s school for nearly two years, has been working hard to bring a location to his hometown.
The likely destination is a warehouse about a mile east of Wal-Mart. It will be housed in the former Ron the Sign Man location on Navarre Parkway.
“Our target date to open is mid-September,” Coe said. “It will be a great addition to the area, and being from Navarre and playing high school baseball here, it means a great deal to me.”
Coe enjoys the training aspect of the game and said watching players develop is one of the best parts about it.
“It’s rewarding to see their growth as players and to see the progress they make,” Coe said. “You really see a difference the more you work with them.”
