Enter the Navarre High School Gymnasium on a weekday afternoon and one will find the Raiders’ girls basketball team engaged in intense summer workouts.
The players are running hard, hustling, executing plays on defense and sharpening their defensive skills as well. The work has culminated in a different Raiders team that is decidedly stronger from the squad that won just three games last season.
“We’re doing really well and we feel like we are a better team than we were last year,” said senior guard Jordyn York. “Coach (Amber Fletcher) pushes us hard and we have so much more confidence.”
