Brady Hammel left Shorter University last winter unsure of what the future held for him.
He had been the kicker for the Hawks for the past two seasons but the fit just wasn’t right at a program that couldn’t buy a win to save its life.
“I actually did wonder if I would ever kick again,” Hammel said.
Hammel is close to getting a second chance. The Navarre grad talked with the coach at Miles College on the phone and is making a visit to the school this weekend.
While all Hammel had was hope as he worked to find another opportunity, he never gave up, pushing himself hard with kicking and punting specialist Mike McCabe several days a week while attending school at Pensacola State.
