Raiders rise to seventh in poll

The Navarre Raiders jumped up one spot to No. 7 in this week’s 6A state football poll. The Raiders (4-0) remained unbeaten with a thrilling 16-14 win over Choctaw Friday night at Bennett C. Russell Stadium.

The Raiders trailed 14-7 at halftime but rallied in the second half, winning the game on a 27-yard field goal by Brady Hammel with 1:29 left.

Navarre is one spot below Tate (3-0). Escambia (3-1) checks in at No. 8 and Niceville (3-1)  is 10th. Mainland(4-0)  is still the No. 1 team in the state.

The Raiders are back in action this Friday when they travel to Fort Walton to take on the Vikings. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
