Raiders remain in top five in state

The Navarre Raiders remained at No. 5 in this week’s 6A Associated Press football poll.  Navarre improved to 7-0 last Friday with a 20-9 win over Escambia.

Armwood is the new No. 1 team in the state, receiving 11 first-place votes. St. Augustine is ranked second and Mainland, which received two first-place votes, is third. Naples is fourth.

Navarre is one of five unbeaten teams in the top 10 and will play at Milton Friday in a District 2-6A showdown. Navarre is 1-0 in the district while Milton is 5-2 overall and 0-1 in district play.

The Raiders have scored 20 or more points six times this season and have held five teams to 14 points or less.
