Despite not playing last week, the Navarre Raiders rose in the poll once again. This week, the Raiders check in at No. 3 in the state in the 6A poll. Armwood is No. 1 and Mainland is No. 2.
Navarre is off to its best start in program history. The Raiders are 8-0 overall and 2-0 in the district as they get set to head out on the road Friday to take on rival Gulf Breeze at Dolphin Stadium. The Raiders will be looking to not only claim the Beach Bowl Trophy for the ninth consecutive season, but they can claim the District 2-6A championship with a win as well.
The Raiders have scored 310 points on the season while the defense has been nothing short of impressive, allowing only 98 points. Navarre has blanked two opponents, including Milton in a 35-0 win two weeks ago.
With a win Friday, Navarre will be assured of a first-round home playoff game. The Raiders close out the regular season Nov. 6 with a game against Niceville, the No. 7 team in the state.
Naples and Charlotte round out the top five in the poll. Miami Central, is sixth, St. Augustine is eighth, Heritage and Boyd Anderson are tied for ninth and Tate is 10th.
