Navarre’s football team is now in the top five. The Raiders moved up one spot to fifth in this week’s Associated Press 6A poll after topping Pace 42-27 in their district opener Friday.
The Raiders scored 40 or more points for the fifth time as they improved to 6-0 on the season.
Navarre now turns its attention to its Homecoming showdown against Escambia Friday night at Bennett C. Russell Stadium. The Raiders and Gators met in the postseason last year, with Navarre coming away with a 44-30 win in the opening round.
Mainland remains the top team in the state. Armwood, St. Augustine and Naples are also in the top five.
