Spring football has started for Navarre, but not every player is participating in practice.
Several of the Raiders, including top running back Michael Carter, are on the baseball team, which is in the midst of a remarkable playoff run.
Although the absence of those players impacts the way practice is run to a certain degree, Navarre head coach Jay Walls said there are positives to the situation.
“We have some very good players from our football team who are playing baseball, but I’m glad they’re having that opportunity to have success in the playoffs,” Walls said. “It’s a great experience and one I wouldn’t want to see traded. The other positive is that it gives the younger players a chance to get more reps.”
