Natasha Elliott looks like she hasn’t missed a beat coming off an injury. In a summer league game against Pace last week, the rising senior is snagging rebounds, defending in the post and encouraging her teammates to be at their best as well.
It’s business as usual for Elliott.
“I try to bring it every night,” Elliott said. “Sometimes we get down on ourselves in a game. It’s important to keep the energy up. If you work hard, other players see that, and they work hard, too.”
Navarre’s leading scorer a season ago, Elliott is using the summer months to improve all aspects of her game, reinventing her game in some ways.
“Personally, I’m rebuilding and have some things to work on,” Elliott said. “I’m perfecting my old moves and learning some new things, too. I’m becoming more confident as a player.”
Elliott’s confidence was on display against the Patriots, who held off the Raiders in a closely contested game against a county rival.
The Raiders led 15-10 at halftime before letting the game get away in the second half.
