Many parents and young athletes struggle to fill the sports training gap that is left in Santa Rosa County from a lack of middle school athletic programs. One local club is striving to do just that with their Gulf Coast Diamond Aces traveling softball team.

The team began offering a 10-and-under (10-U) travel softball program for girls in June, right after the recreational season ended at Navarre Youth Sports Association (NYSA). Before the new travel program began, the 8 to 10-year-old age group had no local options to play softball again until the recreational season resumed in January.
