Gabe Davis played his first full season of varsity football at Navarre in 2018.
He made the most of it, tallying 22 tackles and picking off a pass.
Davis is now a rising senior and is expected to step into a leadership role for the Raiders.
The standout in the secondary is confident he’s ready for the role.
“Watching guys like Chris (Williams), JJ (Jordan Jefferson), Jacobi (Smith) and Josh (Carter), I know what it takes to be a leader,” Davis said. “It’s time for our class to fill their shoes.
Davis said being there for his teammates during the good and bad moments is key.
“I’m working on being a bigger leader and not only being there and talking when guys might be doing something wrong, but also picking them up when they are doing something right,” Davis said.
He takes pride in setting an example through his work ethic. He also has great athletic ability.
“He’s a very good athlete, and that’s one of reasons he was able to get on field as a 10th grader,” Navarre head coach Jay Walls said. “He has had great offseason, and so far, a very good spring.”
