Dante Wright took the recruiting pressure off his shoulders Sunday afternoon, announcing he had committed to Tulane.
The talented athlete from Navarre chose the Green Wave over several other schools. Among those other options were South Alabama, Appalachian State and Florida Atlantic. He had 12 offers in all.
Wright is entering his senior season with the Raiders and is coming off a breakout junior season in which he set a single-season school record with 15 touchdown receptions. He scored 28 touchdowns in all and is poised to break even more school records this season.
Known for his big-play ability as a receiver, he’s also dangerous running the ball. He’s a standout in the secondary, too, and an explosive return threat on special teams.
Wright and the Raiders open preseason camp Monday. They were 9-2 last year, reaching the second round of the playoffs, and hoping to make a run at the state championship this season.
