Cronin throws perfect game

Navarre’s Matt Cronin threw a perfect game Thursday night against Niceville, leading the Raiders to a 7-0 victory over the Eagles on the road.

Cronin, who is committed to playing college baseball at Arkansas,  struck out 12 of the 21 batters he faced in the impressive win.

The Raiders tallied six hits, which Michael Sandle racking up two hits. Sandle signed earlier this week with South Alabama. Cronin came through with one hit and also drove in a run. Dusty Rogers, Aaron Macedo and Micah Daniel all racked up hits as well.

Navarre jumped in front 2-0 after one inning and pushed its advantage to 4-0 after two innings. The Raiders capitalized on six errors by the Eagles as well en route to the District 2-7A victory. Navarre is now 10-7 on the season.
