Matt Cronin rose to the occasion for Arkansas in the regional final against Dallas Baptist Sunday night at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville.
The sophomore out of Navarre worked the final two innings of the Razorbacks’ 4-3 win, striking out four, including the side in the eighth, while allowing just one run on three hits. The save is his 12th of the year, one shy of the record for saves in a season.
His effort propels fourth-ranked Arkansas (42-18) into the Super Regional for the seventh time in program history and for the first time since 2015 when the Razorbacks last made it to the College World Series.
