Jackie Coyne has experience in turning struggling programs into winning programs.
She did it at Lake Placid High School in Florida, guiding the basketball program to a district title in each of her four seasons, and said she plans to do the same for Navarre High School after she was named the new girls coach last week.
Coyne, who replaces Greg Boozer after he decided to step down as head coach, was 56-19 in four seasons at Lake Placid, with the school advancing to the Elite Eight during her second season.
“I’m excited about it,” Coyne said. “When I took over at Lake Placid, they were struggling and had actually been sanctioned by the FHSAA for fighting the year before. We made huge improvements there. I bring a lot of energy and passion to coaching and believe in the importance of great teamwork.”
