Ailsa Clark fell short of her goal to make the state high school tournament last year.
After a stellar showing on the first nine holes at the regional – she carded a 34 – the rising Navarre senior struggled on the back nine and shot a 78.
It won’t be long before the new season arrives and Clark takes another swing at achieving her goal.
“Our region is one of the toughest in the state,” Clark said. “The girls that made it shot a 68 and 72. In other regions, girls shot an 80 and 82 and qualified. It’s a little frustrating that others made it to state and I didn’t. But that only pushes me to make it this year.”
