Ailsa Clark shot one of her best rounds of the golf season at the district meet Oct. 13 in Tallahassee, shooting a two-under-par 70. It was a big deal for the Navarre senior, who has dealt with a handful of tough moments this year as well.
“It’s been up and down at times. I had a couple of rough matches this year, but it was great to shoot under par and play well.”
The Raiders played well as a team as they qualified for the regional for the third-consecutive season, shooting a 364 to finish behind district champion Niceville (293).
The regional was scheduled to be played Tuesday at Fleming Island. Navarre head coach Luticia Boozer said last week she was thrilled her team had an opportunity to compete in the regional again.
“I’m so proud of the girls,” Boozer said. “They didn’t play as well as maybe they wanted to, but they got it together and had a good day. This team has a lot of enthusiasm, and the fact that we have three seniors makes a big difference, too.”
Clark is one of those seniors. The other two are Payton Evans and Laurel Emerson, who shot a 99 at the district tournament.
