Allison ‘Cat’ Pettigrew and Jenna Bobbitt signed a letter of intent Jan. 16 to attend Pensacola State College and play softball for the Pirates. Surrounded by family, friends and teammates, the two close friends signed together. Both said they look forward to playing together at the next level.
Pettigrew has pitched for the varsity team since her freshman year. Each year, she has improved over previous seasons. Last season, she pitched 90 innings, striking out 39 and pitching seven shutouts. Her earned run average for the season was 1.85. Also a threat with the bat, she hit .329 with one home run and five doubles. She will be joining her sister Emily who plays the outfield for the Pirates.
