Bubba Watson is genuine when he speaks. He has a tremendous sense of humor and is as down to earth as it gets.
One would be hard pressed to believe he is one of the world’s greatest golfers when he gives off a just-another-guy-in-the-neighborhood vibe.
It’s why he embraced the opportunity to spend the weekend with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Double-A Southern League team he became a co-owner of earlier this year.
He mingled with fans, participated in a dunk tank event to raise money for the YMCA and even worked various jobs around Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.
Watson loves baseball. He played it as a child growing up outside of Milton. His father, Gerry, who passed away in 2010, envisioned his son one day pitching for the New York Yankees.
