Blue Wahoos showing a lot of promise on offense

Looking back, a three-game stretch at the end of April and into the beginning of May proved to be nothing more than a hiccup for a Pensacola Blue Wahoos offense that has seen more good days than bad ones from an offensive standpoint during this 2019 Southern League Season.

Limited to four runs during a brief losing streak, the Blue Wahoos have turned things around, scoring nine or more runs three times this month. The spark that put Pensacola back on track came on the first Friday in May in a 10-8 win over Biloxi. It was the first of three consecutive wins over the Shuckers and sealed the deal on the Blue Wahoos’ sixth consecutive series win.

The game took nearly four hours to complete, but it was time well spent.

“It’s a long season, and it’s hard to put an emphasis on one game, but wins like this will kick-start you in the right direction,” outfielder Tanner English said.
