Rewind to last season for just a moment. The University of West Florida football team is 4-1 and nationally ranked. Life is good for the Argonauts.
Fast forward to a year later. UWF is again 4-1 and in the Top 25 poll, checking in at No. 24 this week. It is one of two unbeaten teams in the Gulf South Conference, sitting at 3-0 behind reigning national champion and top-ranked Valdosta State (6-0, 4-0).

“I told the team the first day of fall camp to write this down in the front of their notebook. We are going to rest during weekend of the bye week so we can make the type of run we need to make,” UWF head coach Pete Shinnick said.
The run the Argos are counting on is one that leads them to a conference title and playoff berth.
The team still practiced last week in preparation for this Saturday’s road game at West Georgia.
