Alabama picked to win SEC title in football

There were no surprises in the SEC Media poll, at least not at the top, as Alabama is once again picked to win the SEC West and is favored to win the conference title as well.

The reigning national runner-up received 225 first-place votes. Rival Auburn is picked to finish second and received 13 first-place votes. Auburn is also the runner-up in the overall voting for the predicted SEC championship winner.

Georgia is the favorite in the East, racking up 138 first-place votes. Florida, which played against Alabama in the SEC Championship Game last season, is picked second.

Six times since 1992 the predicted champion at SEC Media Days has gone on to win the conference title.

LSU is picked third in the West and Arkansas is fourth. Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Ole Miss fill out the final four spots.

In the East, Tennessee is picked third and South Carolina is fourth. Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Missouri round out the predicted order of finish in the division.
