Snake samaritan saves snakes and residents

A Navarre man is volunteering his time and sharing his passion for reptiles by relocating snakes from people’s yards and homes to safer areas.

Ryan Schaffer, who is 33, has been an active wildlife enthusiast his whole life and has been rescuing reptiles since he moved here last year. He has been a lot busier lately.  

“The rising flood waters when the hurricane hit caused a lot of animals to seek shelter in higher ground and most of the neighborhoods are considered higher ground so it kind of pushed a lot of snakes in particular into the neighborhood,” he said.
