Over the summer James Smith earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Boy Scouts.
In scouting since the age of 10, Smith, a member of Troop 406 in Gulf Breeze, said reaching the top is meaningful.
“It’s a lot of work. I’m surprised how much work went into it,” Smith said. “It taught me a lot and that being an Eagle Scout represents a lot of growth. It means a lot to earn it.”
