Slaybaugh recognized for dedication to Raider soccer

Kim Slaybaugh has never played a minute of soccer for the Navarre Raiders. And yet, the time she has put into the program is next to impossible to measure.

As the mother of five daughters who all played at Navarre, she has spent more than her fair share of minutes, hours, days  and months around one of the most successful soccer programs in the area.

“I wouldn’t change it for nothing in the world,” Slaybaugh said.

Head coach Rob Simon said it was only fitting to present Slaybaugh with a retired jersey framed in a shadow box.

“I thought it was a great sentiment. I just wanted to personally thank her for all that she’s done over the years,” Simon said.

The presentation took Slaybaugh by surprise.

“I wasn’t expecting it at all. I am absolutely honored,” Slaybaugh said. “It was an honor for him to do that for me.”
