Skanska on the hook for lost toll revenue

Pensacola Bay Bridge contractor Skanska USA could be in debt for the cost of cars crossing the Garcon Point Bridge without paying the toll.

At $5 both ways, the bridge toll was lifted shortly after the Pensacola Bay Bridge closed due to damage during Hurricane Sally. That damage was caused by barges involved in the bridge project breaking free. They were not secured for hurricane conditions, according to Skanska statements.  

The toll is set to remain lifted through Oct. 23.
