Santa Rosa sees $7.7 million revenue shortfall

While other local governments are discussing the politically charged idea of reducing funding to law enforcement for community efforts, Santa Rosa County is cutting back the sheriff’s budget for a very different reason.

The COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on the economy, shutting down entire sectors of the economy for months and leaving millions unemployed. That has resulted in a decrease in revenue for Santa Rosa County and, by extension, departments such as the sheriff’s office.
