Return to normal uncertain for seniors during COVID-19 pandemic

Stay home is heard often as a response to those who express concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic.

But for the segment of the population that is more at risk of having complications from the coronavirus, specifically the elderly, staying home has forced them into a difficult position. Their lives remain on hold, and assisted living facilities remain closed to visitors as cases surge in Florida. A record 9,585 tested positive Saturday.

Council on Aging of West Florida Marketing Communications Director Josh Newby understands as well as anyone that balancing public health concerns with the importance of keeping the economy running is important.

Finding that balance isn’t easy.
