Santa Rosa Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Navarre woman for alleged drug trafficking Oct. 23 after spotting her truck in Gulf Breeze.
Joanie Rager has a history of drug arrests with Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office according to jail records. She was arrested on charges of drug trafficking after deputies say they got a confidential tip that she was in the area in possession of a large amount of narcotics.
According to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, deputies recognized Rager’s truck driving in Gulf Breeze and followed her. The truck turned onto State Court where one of the occupants got out and walked away. Rager pulled the truck into the driveway, then exited the vehicle.
The deputy reported knowledge that Rager’s driver’s license was revoked. A Florida ID card, not a license, was found in her possession.
According to the report, Rager was out on bond for trafficking narcotics. A search of arrest records show Rager has been in and out of Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office custody 16 times since 2010. Previous felony charges include larceny, drugs possession, probation violations, burglary, weapons possession and other allegations.
Earlier this year, Rager was arrested for trafficking amphetamines, vehicle theft and other drug related charges.
Due to the informant information and Rager’s criminal history, deputies called in a k-9 to do a check of the vehicle. The k-9 alerted to the possible presence of drugs.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a small baggie inside a purse with Rager’s ID. It contained 2.8 grams of a powdery substance that tested positive for heroin. Under the hood of the vehicle deputies found a plastic case with magnets attached to it.
Inside the case, deputies allegedly found 182 grams of meth, 6.5 grams of heroin, a baggie of marijuana, a scale and hypodermic needles.
Rager was arrested on charges of felony heroin trafficking, felong methamphetamine trafficking, misdemeanor drug equipment possession and misdemeanor driving while license is suspended.
Rager remained in Santa Rosa County Jail with a hold on her release for a drug patch as of Oct. 24. Her bond was set at $100,750.
