Navarre’s volleyball team knocked off Tate in its District 1-6A tournament opener Monday night.
The Raiders swept the Aggies to move on to the semifinal round tonight against top-seeded Crestview. Match time is 5 p.m. at Niceville.
Navarre won the first two games 25-16 and finished out the match with a 25-9 win.
“It’s big for us,” Navarre head coach Ryan Davenport said. I’m so proud of the way they are playing right now. The energy as a whole is very good. We are really coming together as a team.”
This is the first time any of the players on the current Navarre volleyball team have won in the district tourney.
“This builds confidence for us,” junior setter Sam MacFarland said. “It means a lot to be able to get this win.”
The Raiders improve to 8-17 with the victory. The winner of tonight’s match plays either Niceville or Pace Thursday for the district championship.
