It’s late in the fourth quarter and disappointment is painted on the faces of Navarre’s girls basketball players.
The Raiders trail Pace by double digits in a District 1-6A showdown Friday and go on to fall 68-54 to the Patriots.
The script looked different in the first half. Navarre led most of the first two quarters and held a 26-25 lead at halftime.
The second half served as a turning point, with the Raiders unable to get anything to go their way. Meanwhile, everything went right for the Patriots.
“It was a tale of two halves,” Navarre head coach Abby Fogg said. “We let stuff get in our heads, we got frustrated, we didn’t make adjustments and we didn’t know how to recover. We played a great first half, and even started the fourth with some good possessions.”
