Gulf Breeze, led by a one-over round by Taylor Reeves, and Milton outshot the Navarre girls golf team last Monday at Hidden Creek.
Alexis Grove was in the same group with Reeves. She shot a 49.
“All my shots were good,” she said. “It was really my short game, and my putting was too high.”
The senior says her best round on Hidden Creek is a 38, but it was not in competition.
“I feel that there’s more pressure for me to play well for the team,” Grove said. “Number one is my favorite hole. Today, I parred it.”
All five matches – each with a player from the three schools – played the par 36 front nine at Hidden Creek. Scoring for Navarre were Grove, Aubrey Stewart (55), Faith Starling (59) and Isabella Dominitz (61).
“I know they’re not happy with how they played, but it’s golf,” head coach Tish Boozer said.
