Hailey Bastian pulled off a hat trick Nov. 26 as the Raiders beat Milton 4-1.
Those goals gave her the team lead in scoring, just one ahead of Cami Acevedo – who also scored against the Panthers. Head coach Rob Simon called it “a dominant performance.”
Navarre is 5-1 overall and 3-1 in district play. The Raiders appear to be finding a groove.
“I think at first, we were a little rocky,” Acevedo said. “But as we move on, we’re starting to get our footing, really come together with our midfielders, and tie in every position.”
Even though the Raiders appeared to have the upper hand in possession, the Panthers struck first, scoring in the 16th minute.
Five minutes later, the Raiders equalized on a play that flipped the field with one kick.
Maia Vacks launched a low pass from Navarre’s defensive third, up the left side, threaded between two Panther defenders. Bastian outsprinted Milton’s back line and laced a right-footed shot through the goalkeeper.
