Abbey Nebarez has established herself as a force at the net for Navarre. She is quick to come through with key blocks when her team needs them the most.
Nebarez came through with a few more blocks last Wednesday night in Pensacola and helped Navarre put away West Florida Tech in three games. The Raiders won 25-9, 26-24 and 25-20.
“Abbey is a great blocker and she had a handful tonight,” Navarre head coach Ryan Davenport said. “We’ve been working a lot on blocking and defense since the beginning of the season.”
Nebarez will attest to that.
“We’ve been working hard at it in practice,” Nebarez said. “I feel good about the way we played at the net.”
It wasn’t as if everything came easily for the Raiders, however, in notching their second win over the Jaguars this season. The last time Navarre and West Florida played, the Jags took a set from the Raiders.
Navarre didn’t want that happening again.
“It was important. They stole one from us the last time,” Nebarez said. “We wanted to get them in three this time and we did.”
