Navarre is one step closer to winning a third consecutive championship in girls weightlifting after the completion of the morning session at the state meet at Belleview High School.
The Raiders have 10 points, holding a three-point lead over seven other teams tied for second. Five weight classes remain, including the 101and 119 pound classes, which feature reigning state champions Payton Watson (101) and Savannah Diel (119).
Hannah Stapleton finished second in the 183-pound weight class with a total lift of 375 pounds. Teammate Amaya Craig placed fourth with a 335 total.
Shailyn Jackson and Kristin Dyer took sixth in their respective weight classes. Jackson had a total lift of 335 in the 199 pound weight class and Dyer had a total lift of 395 pounds in the unlimited division.
Kailey Haldman took ninth at 154 pounds with a total lift of 320 and Julia McMaster finished 10th at 169 pounds with a total of 325. Juniper Chavez finished 13th with a total lift of 305 pounds.
