Jade Slaybaugh was once a ball girl at the Subway All-Star Soccer Game.
On Tuesday night at the Ashton Brosnaham Complex, the Navarre soccer standout was playing in the game with several of her Raider teammates in a battle between the East and the West.
She talked about that experience after the game here on a humid March night in Pensacola.
“We just took a throwback picture five minutes ago with the girls I ball-girled with. It’s weird it’s our turn to play,” Slaybaugh said.
But Slaybaugh and other top players were ready for this moment. The team included several of her Navarre Raider teammates and they were all at their best in helping the East roll past the West 5-1.
The game featured top seniors from Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties.
