Navarre’s girls soccer team survived a tightly contested 4A regional quarterfinal battle with Leon Thursday night in Tallahassee, winning the game on penalty kicks.
Tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation, the Raiders (23-2-1) won the shootout 4-3, with Jennifer Seward delivering the game-winning goal.
Kylie Lawson, Autumn Slaybaugh and Jocelyn Fernandez made the other penalty kicks for Navarre, which moves on to the regional semifinal round for the first time since 2015.
The Raiders and Lions went into halftime scoreless. Seward scored the lone goal for Navarre with six minutes left in regulation, tying the score.
Jessika Seward tallied six saves in the opening half and Emily Depersio made two saves in the second half.
Navarre will take on Niceville Tuesday night in Niceville. Game time is 7 p.m.
