Navarre’s volleyball team ended a six-game streak of not winning a set last Monday as it lost in four games to Fort Walton Beach.
With the four-set loss, Navarre fell to 6-15. The Raiders bounced back Thursday with their second win of the volleyball season over Pace, notching its seventh win of the year.
Against the Vikings, the first set was nip-and-tuck, as the two teams never separated by more than four points. Navarre got to within one, 23-22, before Fort Walton Beach tallied two points for the win.
The Raiders dominated the second set. A quick 6-4 lead quickly became 17-7 with a big performance by senior Alyssa Kisselburg and stellar back row play.
“Recently, I haven’t been playing very much,” Kisselburg said. “So, when I was out there, I was like ‘I’m going to do the best I can do.’”
That included picking up most of her eight kills, five digs, and six serving aces in a span where the lead ballooned up to 10 points. Throughout the season, Kisselburg has spent time in two considerably different positions.
