UPDATE: The May 21 “PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE” is hereby rescinded following the satisfactory completion of the bacteriological survey showing that the water is safe to drink.

Original, May 21: Holley Navarre Water System has issued a precautionary boil water notice for the residents of Timber Lane, between Pawnee Drive and Panhandle Trail. This notice is in response to a 2 inch line break that occurred at 1:30 p.m. May 21.
As a precaution, residents and businesses who were without water are being advised that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil of at least one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
This “PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE” will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. This process routinely takes 48 hours. Precautionary boil water notices are issued as a part of standard protocol following any loss of water pressure, whether as a result of planned maintenance activities or unscheduled repairs.
HNWS crews completed the repairs at 2:45 p.m. Residents are advised that there is a possibility of discolored water as a result of the outage, and to flush their home’s plumbing by running their taps for a few minutes.
