First Baptist Church of Navarre took a hard hit from Hurricane Sally Sept. 16. The powerful hurricane-force winds knocked the church steeple off the top of the building and blew the point through the walkway, rupturing the awning.
The building not only experienced wind damage, but water damage as well. The church sanctuary was flooded, suffering carpet damage along with every other room in the building.
Pastor Jensen Petersen said that trials and tragedies happen to everyone, “but our God promised to cause all things to work to good for those who love him and are called according to his purpose.”
