In a celebration of agriculture and community, hundreds of people gather each October at Gabbert Farm in the town of Jay for the annual Peanut Festival.
Oct. 5-6 was the 30th rendition of the event.
Peanuts are a significant part of Santa Rosa County culture, especially in the rural town of Jay. Agriculture, largely based in the Jay region, accounts for $80 million of the county’s economy annually.
