“New Year, New You” at The Beacon

As this chaotic year comes to a close, The Beacon assisted living community in Gulf Breeze is ready for the new year. The focus for 2021 is healthy living and nutrition, says Executive Director Andrea Myers

“We’re just striving to make 2021 a better year,” she said.

The Beacon will be hosting “New Year, New You” events in January that focus on prioritizing health. The events include Tai Chi classes and healthy food demonstrations by The Beacon’s chef.

“Exercise raises endorphins. We are hoping these classes help to get our residents’ spirits up during this time,” Myers said.

As a part of “New Year, New You,” every person that comes in for a tour will get a free pedometer and information from the nurses about how to stay healthy. Virtual tours are available as well through video calls.

Non-residents are invited to partake in the “New Year, New You” events as long as they RSVP and adhere to the COVID-19 protocol.

“We’re hosting these healthy events as a way of inviting the community in,” said Director of Sales and Marketing Becky McCaa. “We also encourage visitation with our residents. We just ask that you let us know in advance so you can be informed of our protocol.”

The Beacon community is proud to share that they have been COVID-free throughout the entire pandemic. The friendly and dedicated staff have put numerous protocols in place to keep everyone in their community as safe as possible.

The Beacon combines the comforts of home and the peace of mind that comes from knowing that a compassionate, around-the-clock staff is fully committed to serving resident needs.

Located right off U.S. Highway 98, The Beacon has capacity for 120 residents, and 10 nurses are on staff to provide the best possible care 24 hours a day.

The Beacon offers spacious studio and one-bedroom apartments with kitchenettes, private baths and courtyard views. Personalized security response systems are available to residents, as are physical therapy and exercise programs.

Other amenities include card rooms, a movie theater, a putting green and a salon and spa.

The Beacon also offers restaurant-style dining three times a day, and a wellness team is available, where staff members work with residents, the family and medical professionals to develop customized-care programs. Concierge service is available as well for scheduling medical appointments, activities, family visits and for accommodating other needs of the residents.

The Beacon wants to show their residents honor, respect and dignity and preserve as much as they can.

The Beacon also has a 100% money back guarantee within 30 days of move-in if your loved one decides that this community is not the right fit.

One of the other options offered by The Beacon is memory care, which is a specialized area of assisted living. Residents dealing with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia receive care beyond what traditional assisted-living facilities can provide. The Beacon at Gulf Breeze’s memory care program addresses the needs of the whole person, taking into account emotional, spiritual, mental, social needs and physical symptoms.

The Beacon has program for their residents called ALLE Learning, which promotes the idea that you’re never too old to continue learning. This program will help retain memory and keep the residents’ brains active.

The Beacon staff is committed to providing peace of mind to families, knowing their loved ones will be taken care of and the staff will honor them as if they were their own family members. They put their residents’ health and safety first.

The Beacon is now accepting tours while following proper protocols.
