The Beacon will be hosting “New Year, New You” events in January that focus on prioritizing health. The events include Tai Chi classes and healthy food demonstrations by The Beacon’s chef.
“Exercise raises endorphins. We are hoping these classes help to get our residents’ spirits up during this time,” Myers said.
As a part of “New Year, New You,” every person that comes in for a tour will get a free pedometer and information from the nurses about how to stay healthy. Virtual tours are available as well through video calls.
Non-residents are invited to partake in the “New Year, New You” events as long as they RSVP and adhere to the COVID-19 protocol.
“We’re hosting these healthy events as a way of inviting the community in,” said Director of Sales and Marketing Becky McCaa. “We also encourage visitation with our residents. We just ask that you let us know in advance so you can be informed of our protocol.”
