Navarre’s girls soccer team keeps shutout streak intact

In the three games the Raiders have played this season, they are not only undefeated but have not been scored upon.

This week, the Raider girls soccer team beat Catholic 8-0 in an away contest and defeated Milton 3-0 at home. Navarre is now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the district.

Raiders 8, Catholic 0

The teams played evenly until the 13th minute when Autumn Slaybaugh out-fought a Crusader forward for the ball. Slaybaugh passed back to Anakah Madril trailing the play.

Madril lofted a long kick toward the Crusader goal. The Crusader goal keeper went backward, but the ball carried over her head and the Raiders had the first goal in the game.

Four minutes later, Maia Vacks passed from her defensive position to Jennifer Seward running down the left side of the field. Seward took the pass in stride and kicked the ball between the Crusader keeper and goalpost to make the score 2-0.

Vacks, an excellent defender, added to the offensive barrage in the 25th minute when she scored after taking a pass from freshman Hunter Wallace, giving the Raiders a three-goal lead.
